New Years Eve Blog!!!

Sooo theres about 4ish more hours left in 2009 and I thought I'd write a fun little blog to close out 2009!! I am super excited to be going into the new year as a newly natural! I've learned alot this year, I accepted Jesus as my Lord & Savior this year! Woot Woot! Lol...I've mer alot of interesting people, learned alot about my self, and I've just really grown overall as person.....so I'm gonna do a little 10 things survey that I made=)

10 things I want accomplish in the new year

1) Continue to build a strong realtionship with my Daddy In Heaven!! 2) Really make sure im buckling down on my studies so that I can transfer in the fall! 3) Start talking on the phone more LOL it's so dreadful to me, but I really wanna try=) 4) Continue to love my natural locks and nurse them to health and GROWTH! 5) Stop being such a product junkie and find a regimen that works for my hair 6) Finish that book I've been writing for like 2 years 7)Stop putting off taking my math and chemistry course and JUST DO IT! lol 8) Get a puppy=) 9) Find the man of my dreams LOL j/k but it would be nice! smh I'm a mess 10) Volunteer alot more!

Length Check!!

Okay so I couldn't wait LOL, I was taking some new pics and noticed the difference in my length and just overall texture and look of my hair from October to now, I got rid of some of those leftover relaxed ends and clipped my ends...It looks 10 times better!! The pictures on here are from a co wash that I did about 4 days ago and I'm surprised that it actually held up and is still looking nice without me having wash it again!! Coconut Oil and finger styling every morning is the trick!!=) Here are the photos!

2 Month Nappiversay

Hey Everyone, so it's been 2 months since I did my BIG CHOP! And I am growing to love my Natural Locks more everyday! I have had some positive and negative feedback but it all just makes me stronger=)......anywho I have a confession... I've become a PRODUCT JUNKIE , Omg I've been trying so many different products so I can find a good regimen that works for my hair especially since it's winter and I cant co wash everyday without risking catching pneumonia!! Here's some of the stuff I've been using



Most of these have been a complete FAIL for my hair either leaving white residue or making it hard and crispy lol....I like the Organix Vanilla Silk though it smells wonderful and is nice for cowashing and the IC Styling Gel works wonders for giving my curls more definition.

So I Went to the Vitamin Shoppe and found my hair saviors!! Giovanni Products are amazing for my hair and I use spectrum coconut oil everyday especially for the Morning After TWA(Natural Chica Blog)

I'm still learning to style my TWA but sometimes I get a bit helpless since I'm use to having longer hair but growth and health is the goal here so I'll get my length back eventually!But for now I'm Fab with my TWA!! I took pics of my hair stretched to show the growth but I think I'll wait till about month 4 to show the comparisons!! Well until next time....

I DID IT!

I finally did my BIG CHOP! && I must say I LOVE it! At first it was a shock but I feel so free now & I have this new pep in my step LOL so let me give you the story....

In the beginning I didnt plan to go natural, I just decided to not relax my hair for awhile lol...I had my last relaxer in March 2009 and basically I was just washing and flat ironing constantly to make the new growth be as bone straight as possible. I'm a youtube fanatic lol so one day as I was browsing videos about best ways to wrap hair I saw a video of a young lady talking about her natural hair and after that I was hooked, I started researching and learning more about natural hair and from that I began my official "transition" I wore braidouts for most of my transition and I tried strawsets a few times but wasnt really good at doing them myself...then in August 09 I started reading and BC'ing and me being so used to my hair being long smacked my lips and decided I would just transition until I couldnt anymore lol...but then I started seeing those curls pop up everytime I would wash my hair! && it was all she wrote!! I called a few natural salons to see about setting an appt but every salon was far away I got a little discouraged but on October 10, 2009 after I got out of work I just went to the mirror grabbed my scissors and started cutting!! ( a few grunts and groans and "I can't believe it!") But I absolutely love it.

So I'm going to start a blog/vlog about my journey! Hopefully it's insightful for some of you out there!

Miss Plain Jane is what they call me

You see I dress in a black from head to toe

I rarely get a double take from an regular joe

never thought of as pretty just an average lady, you see

the world seems to have this odd perception of beauty if she got long

hair and a big ol booty..lol

Dont do much with my hair always a simple wrap, maybe thats why guys dont give me much rap?

Playing Hard To Get....Who's Playing?

**NEWSFLASH** I will never post twice in one day unless its an emergency lol but I had to write this

Okay so I met this guy awhile ago and he's been trying to "chill" with me for the longest which I'm learning is translation for I want to get in your pants, anywho so everytime he tries to make plans I'm busy (and not on purpose lol), so he calls me with an attitude saying how im playing hard to get and acting like im to good for him! So we get into a little "debate" and I pretty much cut him off anywho on to my point. I called up one of my good guy friends and told him what happened and he brought something to my attention that I never thought about before. He tells me that I should feel insulted and I really didnt understand why until he explained that when guys say that it kind of seems like he is saying that im "playing" hard to get as if im EASY to get on any other occasion and now I'm wondering if women should take that as an insult when men say things like that to them. Because personally I dont "play" anything LOL, I'm not easy to get but I also wont try and have a man bending over backwards to get my attention because thats just rude! I'm sure both men and women have a different take on this So I'm just wondering should the term "Playing hard to get" be considered an insult?

Hey it's me!! Not that you knew who ME was but one day you will=) I love writing and I ponder about the simplest things all day so I thought why not start a blog and share my thoughts WITH THE WORLD or @ least 10 of you lol, but just to fore warn you I do say and think about alot of random things, I have very strong and odd opinions about things and I'm not afraid to state them regardless of what anyone thinks....but at the same time I'm probably one of the Sweetest people I know...
